Helpful Tips
for the best Experience

Minerva's Bridal is known for a great selection, amazing quality and perhaps most importantly — caring, personal service. But to provide great service, we ask for a little help from our brides and guests. On this page, you'll find many helpful tips, hints and frequently asked questions (and answers!) to help you have the best experience with us.

Information and Tips Before Your Visit

Appointments
Appointments are recommended, so you not only receive our bridal consultant's full service and attention, but also have a fitting room. Occasionally and especially on the weekends we can run out of rooms and you may encounter a long wait time. Saturdays are often the busiest day of the week for bridal shops. If this is the only day you can shop, make an appointment ahead of time. Minerva's will apreciate you respecting the time of the appointment you've selected.

Bring people you trust
(as recommended on "Brides Magazine") Don't invite a crowd of people with you. Two people—your mom and a close friend—are plenty. Three or more will make decision-making stressful and difficult, especially if they're offering conflicting opinions.

Keep an open mind
Take some time to look through the designers websites that Minerva's Bridal carries. Print out the dress styles you like and bring them with you to your appointment. If you can’t print out the pictures, make a list of the designers and dress styles that you like. You should also be prepared with knowing when, where and at what time your wedding will take place. This will help your consultant in suggesting appropriate options for your specific event. Begin shopping for your gown early. It is best to allow plenty of time to order your gown and allow time for alterations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns?
Call to schedule an appointment a minimum of one to two weeks in advance. By scheduling an appointment, it allows the salon to provide you with our undivided attention and have a bridal consultant dedicated specifically to you. Keep in mind that it takes approximately 6 months to produce a wedding gown. You should begin shopping for your gown a minimum of 9- 12 months in advance of the wedding to allow enough time for alterations once the gown arrives.

How long is my appointment?
Bridal gown appointments last from 1 to 1 1/2 hour from Monday trough Friday, and 45 minutes to 1 hour on Saturday and Sunday (due to the high volume). We strongly recommend that you respect the time you schedule your appointment for.

What should I bring to my appointment?
Bring pictures of dresses you’ve seen on our website, in magazines, on the internet. And bring an open mind: don’t be surprised if you find “the dress” on your first visit to Minerva's Bridal . We have plenty shoes and undergarments for you to use when you try on gowns.

Should I get a sitter for the kids?
We love Children; however, when shopping for your gown you need to be able to focus and concentrate without distractions. A bridal boutique is not a fun place for kids, and they will get bored quickly. A bridal salon is also not a safe place for children due to loose pins and other hazards.

Who should I bring to my appointment?
Bring the closest friend or family member whose opinion you value and who knows you well and with whom you want to share the experience of buying your gown. Bringing more than 3 others can take the focus off of you. Due to our space we are limited to only have no more than 2 guest per Bride.

What size gowns are available for me to try on?
Most of our gowns are 6, 8, 10 and 12. We also carry the largest selection of designer plus-size gowns as well as in our exclusive bridal line.

May I take pictures of the gowns while I try them on?
We do not allow cameras in the fitting rooms while you are shopping. Once you have purchased a dress, you may take pictures if you need them to have them on your planner.

Can I complete my entire look in one appointment?
Absolutely! Not only do many brides find their dress on their first visit to our salon, but they also find all their accessories (veils, headpieces, jewelry etc) on their first visit.

Will I be able to see gowns at Minerva's Bridal that are different from what I've seen everywhere else?
Yes! We have our very own exclusive line for Minerva's Bridal with a wide selection on styles, and cuts that cater to any taste.

Buying How far in advance do I need to buy my gown?
Special-order wedding gowns will take a 4-6 months lead-time, we stongly recommend to start the process of order your gown at least 9 months prior to your wedding date.

Does Minerva's Bridal provide Alterations "On Site"?
Not exactly, but "Laces and Threads" located next to Minerva's Bridal has a facility specially designed to cater to those Brides and bridesmaids who may need alterations providing them with the best service and 25 years of experience and who pay attention to the smallest details.

How do I pay for my gown?
We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa, as well as cash. We do not accept Checks. If you are ordering a special-order gown, we require a 50% deposit at the time you order your gown. When the gown arrives at Minerva's Bridal and passes our quality control check, we’ll contact you to let you know and to schedule a first try on. At that point, we require payment of the remaining 50% balance. If you’ve requested that we ship your gown out of state, your balance must be paid for in full before it can be shipped.

What are the price ranges for your gowns?
Our special-order gowns start at $798.00 up to $1900.00. Off the rack specials are also available on selected styles. You can find even lower-priced gowns at Minnie's Bridal Outlet. Click here to visit the site.

Will you ship my gown out of state for me?
Not a problem. We can ship a dress anywhere in the USA and the world. Shipping fees apply.

I’m getting married less than 4 months – is it too late to get a gown from you?
No, it’s not too late, but every second counts! Your options include buying one of our gowns off the rack or working with a consultant to determine which designers can meet your time frame for a "special order" gown, which could include an additional rush charge.

What is a rush order?
If your wedding date is sooner than the time we typically need to have a special-order gown made, we’ll need to consult with the designer and place a “rush” order, for an additional fee. In this instance, your gown may arrive 1-3 weeks before your wedding and details will be outlined in your contract.
